Sharp Resigns Fleet Position with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, PA – Josie Sharp, CAFM, has resigned her position as director, Bureau of Vehicle Management for the Department of General Services for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The resignation is effective June 1. Sharp managed a fleet of approximately 16,000 vehicles for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 2005, the Pennsylvania Department of General Services sponsored Sharp’s participation in the Leadership Development Institute, a one-year program for women in state government. She graduated in 2005 and was recognized by Governor Ed Rendel for this achievement.

Sharp assumed her position as director, Bureau of Vehicle Management in 2003 shortly after winning the 2003 AF Professional Fleet Manager of the Year Award. Sharp won the Professional Fleet Manager of the Year Award for her work as fleet and safety manager for Aventis Pharmaceuticals in Bridgewater, N.J., where she managed a fleet of 6,000 vehicles. Sharp worked as fleet manager for Aventis from 1998-2003. Aventis was created from a merger of Hoescht Marion Roussel and Rhone Poulenc Rorer. Sharp was the fleet manager for Rhone Poulenc Rorer prior to the merger.
