ALPHARETTA, GA – The National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) and the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) will join forces to promote a formal safe driving education program, “10 Steps to Protect Your Most Valuable Resource-Your People,” to fleets nationwide. Developed in an effort to help fleet managers minimize crash risk and protect employees and their organizations’ bottom line, the program will officially kickoff in late February with speaking engagements at local NAFA chapters. Matthew Betz, VP of national account sales, AmeriFleet Transportation, and co-chair of the NAFA Education Development Committee, will present the program at designated NAFA chapter meetings. The chapter’s scheduling the meetings will include Greater Hartford (Feb. 22), Sunshine State (Feb. 23), Wisconsin (Feb. 27), Old Dominion (Mar. 13), Michigan (Mar. 22), Chicago (Apr. 5), and St. Louis (July 11). Created by NAFA’s Education Development Committee and the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety, the 10-step presentation provides guidelines to show that an employer can improve traffic safety performance and minimize the risk of motor vehicle crashes. Following these steps help organizations to ensure that qualified drivers are hired and that only qualified drivers are allowed to drive on company business, that drivers are trained and supervised, and that organizational vehicles are maintained properly. Adherence to the 10 steps can also help to keep company automotive insurance costs at the lowest possible level.
