– The National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) San Francisco Chapter recognized several long-time active members and supporters at its December 2006 meeting, reported chapter chairman Rick Battersby, fleet manager for Contra Costa County. Ellie Walsh, recently retired from ABM Industries and a previous Chapter Alumni Award winner, and Pual Kasbar, Leaseplan USA, were honored for 25 years of NAFA participation. Rely Pico Roda, Nationwide Auction Systems was presented the first-ever San Francisco chapter Affiliate Support Award. The meeting also featured presentations on “Alternative Fuels in California – Past, Present, and Future.” Chris Ferrara, Pacific Gas and Electric briefed attendees on the utility’s recently developed and fully operational 100-mpg plug-in hybrid vehicle. John Addison, publisher of CaH2 Report, discussed the developments and progress of hydrogen-fueled vehicle projects and infrastructure in California. Other speakers included Doug Cameron, CleanEnergy, and Jon Van Bogart, CleanFuel USA.The meeting’s business activities included a review of NAFA national goals and chapter nominating committee selection.
