ISELIN, N.J. – The National Association of Fleet Administrators, Inc. (NAFA), has announced that its Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) program is now required for state fleet administrators in the State of Ohio. This requirement is part of the State of Ohio Unified Code and has full legislative authority. The State of Ohio chose the CAFM program because it is the most comprehensive program in the industry, requiring an ongoing five-year recertification cycle, including material for both public service and private fleets. The CAFM program is designed to identify and recognize exceptional fleet management professionals. Established more than two decades ago as the Certified Fleet Management program with the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and now administered solely by NAFA, the CAFM program is the oldest and most esteemed fleet certification program available, according to NAFA. “It's exciting to have the State of Ohio recognize the benefits associated with NAFA’s Certified Automotive Fleet Manager program,” said Patti Earley, CAFM, chair of NAFA’s Certification Board. “The CAFM program will identify those individuals within the state system that have a diverse and advanced knowledge of the fleet management profession. It will also ensure that those individuals continue their education for recertification purposes. The CAFM requirement is definitely an advantage for the State.”
