New F-450 Joins 2008 Ford Super-Duty Lineup

October 2, 2006

DEARBORN, MI – Ford F-Series Super Duty has been overhauled for the 2008-model year, and the lineup expanded with the new F-450 pickup. The super-sized F-450 offers a maximum payload of more than 6,000 lbs. and towing capacity of more than 24,000 lbs. — a 5,000-lb. increase over the class-leading F-350. The F-450 combines the right axle, right powertrain, and right suspension to manage pulling a heavier trailer while maintaining a comfortable ride. It rides on its own chassis and incorporates a new rear leaf-spring suspension while using the radius arm-front suspension from the F-450 chassis cab. Offered in three cab styles — Regular Cab, SuperCab, and Crew Cab — and with two bed lengths, the new Super Duty will feature redesigned interior and exterior, an all-new 6.4L Power Stroke Diesel, tailgate step and stowable bed extender, PowerScope power-telescoping mirrors, and available TowCommand System.
