Penske Truck Leasing Named to InformationWeek 500 for 6th Consecutive Year

September 18, 2006

READING, PA – Penske Truck Leasing has been ranked 11th overall on the 2006 InformationWeek 500 for the technological innovation it demonstrates in the transportation and logistics industries. Penske ranked first among its peers in the transportation and logistics category. This is the company’s 6th consecutive year on the list. In 2005, Penske was ranked 21st overall, and was a runner-up in the transportation and logistics category.

This year’s ranking was based in part upon several innovative IT and systems integration projects that helped Penske improve customer service while also saving millions of dollars annually through process improvements, overall cost reductions, and substantial employee productivity gains at both Penske Truck Leasing and its subsidiary Penske Logistics.

For the past 18 years, InformationWeek has identified and honored the nation’s most innovative users of information technology with its annual listing. The list is unique among corporate rankings because it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
