Supreme Corp. Partners with GM to Introduce Astro Body Package
GOSHEN, IN – Supreme Corp. and General Motors introduced Supreme's all-new Astro Body at the General Motors Fleet Preview held in Nashville in May.
The aerodynamic Supreme Astro Body fiberglass body mounts to commercial 2007 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup chassis, and replaces the Astro and Safari Vans phased out by GM. The durable fiberglass Astro Body boasts numerous interior and exterior features to appeal to a wide range of customers.
“Since GM’s Fleet Preview, we’ve been receiving numerous inquiries on the Astro Body package from dealers excited about selling it,” said Bob Besse, director of marketing and product planning for Supreme. “To build the Astro Body, Supreme is working closely with GM to meet and pass their strict standards and criteria, and with such valued partners as Decoma SVE, Velvac, Adrian and Crown for mirrors, ladder racks, and storage bin packages."
Supreme plans to begin production of the Astro Body in early fall and then ship finished units to the Decoma SVE production facility across from the General Motors plant in Shreveport, La., for final assembly on the Colorado and Canyon chassis. Units will be shipped directly from the General Motors plant in Shreveport and will be available in GM dealer showrooms.
Supreme builds a variety of durable bodies for work trucks and delivery vehicles. All Supreme bodies are customizable to meet the specific needs of the businesses or individuals who use them.
