Extra Large Ambulance for Extra Large Patients Brought Into Service by Las Vegas Company

LAS VEGAS – American Medical Response is putting an extra-large ambulance into service to handle extra-large patients at the request of the Clark County Fire Department, according to the Associated Press. The 250,000-rig is extra-wide, has a larger gurney, and a winch and ramps capable of loading up to 1,600 lbs. According to the report, in the past six months, the company has handled 75 calls involving patients weighing more than 600 lbs.
