Utilimaster Announces Acquisition

WAKARUSA, IN — Utilimaster Corp., a North American producer of custom commercial vehicles, has acquired certain assets from Union City Body Company (UCBC), a manufacturer specializing in walk-in vans and other service vehicles. The acquisition includes 200,000 square feet of production and office capacity in five facilities, along with machinery, equipment, and tooling, on a 127-acre site in Union City, Ind., as well as all related intellectual property. Future product offerings will be based on the Utilimaster platform, utilizing systems and proce-dures from both companies. In addition, Utilimaster will also continue to service the UCBC parts business.
