In Memoriam: Stan Hoynitski (1937-2005)

MECHANICSBURG, PA – Stan Hoynitski, 68, owner and president of the Harrisburg Auto Auction in Mechanicsburg, passed away unexpectedly Wed., Oct. 19 at Harrisburg North Golf Resort in Millersburg.

Hoynitski was born March 25, 1937 in Scranton. He opened Harrisburg Auto Auction, in 1982. He also owned the Harrisburg North Golf Resort.

Hoynitski was active in the Pennsylvania Independent Auto Dealers Assoc. in which he served as president from 1974-75 and executive director from 1976-80. He was involved with the National Auto Auction Association where he helped start the Independent Advisory Committee as well as serving on its Board of Directors.

Hoynitski is survived by Deloris Hoynitski, and son Chip and wife Miki Hoynitski, two daughters, Candace and husband Ron Cianni, and Stacy Baker, five grandchildren, Alex Hoynitski, Jeffery and Christine Cianni, Brandon and Matthew Baker, and Stan's life partner Phyllis Bowlin who was at Stan's side when he passed away.
