Gromadzki Named Fleet Manager for Mass Transit Agency

April 19, 2005

GRANITE CITY, IL — Wayne Gromadzki has been appointed fleet manager for the Agency for Community Transit (ACT). The Agency for Community Transit provides fixed route bus service and specialty transportation services for Madison County Illinois and several surrounding Illinois Counties and manages a ride finders van pool service for various employers within Southern Illinois and the St. Louis Metropolitan Area along with a network of bike trails. Its 200-plus unit fleet includes large buses, smaller call-a-ride buses and ride finders vans. In addition, Gromadzki also manages the agency's administrative vehicles and maintenance equipment. Currently Gromadzki is seeking proposals from fleet management companies to provide insurance and maintenance functions for about 30 ride finders vans, which are spread out over a seven-county area. Gromadzki retired as the fleet manager of St. Louis County on February 1, 2005, where he was employed for over 31 years, the last of which as the County's fleet manager.
