CHICAGO — Auto Driveaway announce on February 14 its new officers, most of who will be in attendance at this year’s NAFA Conference.
In a recent election held by A.D. Acquisition, LLC, (doing business as) Auto Driveaway, Michael Vickrey of New Orleans, La., was selected to be president of the board; Ira Applebaum of Phoenix, Ariz., was named vice president; Wayne Moss of Indianapolis, Ind., was chosen as the board’s new secretary; and Steve Westerfield of Omaha, Neb., was selected as treasurer.
The owners also appointed leaders of several committees to address such critical industry issues as operational excellence and safety. Chief among Auto Driveaway’s goals is to offer more customer service, while boosting technology, and facilitating behind the scenes operational enhancements.
Founded in 1952 by John Sohl, Auto Driveaway relocates commercial and private vehicles using its network of 49 offices in the US and Canada. Company fleets and other commercial enterprises rely on Auto Driveaway to move their cars, trucks and other specialty vehicles by employing professional drivers or facilitating transport by truck carrier. Onsite vehicle inspections, license and titling services, and vehicle storage are among the other services offered.
The company is still headquartered in Chicago.
“This year’s NAFA Conference, which will be a lot of fun with the entertainment we have lined up. The new owners are anxious to introduce themselves to folks in the industry – we look forward to saying hello to old friends and making new acquaintances, so please stop by our Booth #1301 and have your picture taken!” said John Hill, national sales manager for the past 12 years.
In addition to upcoming changes on the Auto Driveaway website, the company plans on making further enhancements to its online system that provides real-time price quotes and aids commercial fleet managers with tracking and monitoring their vehicle fleets.
