Toyota Plans to Introduce Hybrid Lexus GS in 2006

TOKYO, JAPAN — Toyota plans to introduce a hybrid version of its luxury sedan Lexus GS in 2006, company executives said on Dec. 22, according to the Associated Press.Takeshi Yoshida, the official in charge of Lexus, said that a hybrid version of Lexus GS will go on sale in 2006 worldwide. Toyota has scored success with the hybrid Prius but doesn't yet have a luxury hybrid. It has said it plans to begin selling hybrid versions of its Highlander and Lexus RX SUVs in the United States next year.
