Maciel Retires as City of Hawthorne, Calif., Fleet Manager

Amado Maciel, fleet manager/chief mechanic for the Equipment Division of the Public Works Department for the City of Hawthorne, Calif. retired on June 30 after 28 years with the city.Following retirement, Maciel plans to continue drag racing with his son Mitch, who is a fleet mechanic for the City of Hawthorne. The father/son team competes with an altered roadster in the Good Guys Vintage Racing Associates West Coast Championship Services.
