LeasePlan USA CIO Announces Retirement

August 3, 2004

LeasePlan USA’s Chief Information Officer, Dave Bush, announced that he is retiring after 18 years of service with the company. Bush came to LeasePlan in 1987 with more than 20 years of information technology experience. Among his most noted accomplishments while at LeasePlan are the introduction of company-wide computer systems, the implementation of a paperless office environment, the development of ePlan, LeasePlan’s complete online fleet management e-business tool, and the implementation of the company’s Mechanical Incident Management System (MIMS.) When Bush came to LeasePlan in 1987, the company managed only 1,000 vehicles using no standard computer systems. Today, the company manages more than 400,000 vehicles using advanced systems based on the IBM iSeries platform. In addition, Bush selected and oversaw the implementation of a paperless office environment, which included document imaging, “cold” document storage and digital fax systems. The new, more efficient environment has helped to improve LeasePlan’s service offerings and technological capabilities. He also planned and managed the implementation of ePlan, developed in an exclusive partnership between LeasePlan and IBM Global Services. The innovative e-business resource increases the control a fleet manager has over his or her fleet by providing real-time access to fleet data and fleet management capabilities via the Internet. ePlan now provides access to more than 350,000 vehicles and stores more than 3 million retrievable digital images. The MIMS system, which Bush played a key role in implementing, combines all service orders in one database and automatically audits each service order for client spending limits, pricing for individual services, time and mileage parameters per repair. In addition, MIMS provides a wealth of on-screen information pertaining to the client, vehicle and fleet management programs.
