The International Automotive Remarketing Alliance (IARA) has presented Charlie Vogelheim, senior editor of Kelley Blue Book, with a special recognition award, presented to those in the vehicle remarketing industry who transcend their normal working duties and regularly give themselves for the betterment of others. As an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America, Vogelheim has combined both his dedication to the Scouts and respected stature in the automotive industry to create the Good Scout Award. Now in its fifth year, the Boy Scouts of America and the California International Auto Show, together, recognize an auto manufacturer, franchise dealer, and an affiliated company by making public the contributions these organizations have made toward the betterment of their communities and citizens. Vogelheim's passion for education, work with high schools and "senior nights," his promotion of higher education, and the Good Scout Program, have resulted in the auto industry awarding college scholarships to four deserving young men and women each year.
