Two veteran fleet professionals, Gerry Huzar and David Ogilvie announced on June 28 the formation of Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) – a company designed to meet the needs of businesses that operate cars, vans and light duty trucks as part of their business structure. Huzar, who managed the corporate fleet of Nabisco Ltd. and Ogilvie, formerly fleet manager for Hewlett Packard (Canada) Ltd. are two recognized members of the National Association of Fleet Administrators Inc. having served on both the local chapter and national boards. Huzar was vice president for Canada from 2000 through 2002 while Ogilvie served as the organization’s president from 1997 through 1999 and currently serves on the NAFA Foundation. Their primary focus will be businesses that currently operate fleets without an in-house administrator. FMS services include a complete review and audit of a company’s fleet operation; development of fleet policies and procedures; company vehicle versus driver reimbursement studies; supplier RFP development and negotiations; and if needed, handling the fleet management duties as an outsourcing service. With fleet experience in both Canada and the U.S., FMS will provide help to U.S. organizations seeking operational assistance or consultation with their Canadian operations.
