Rhode Island Vicarious Liability Law Extended Until June 30, 2005

On June 29, Rhode Island Governor Donald L. Carcieri signed into law Senate Bill 2481 designed to extend the sunset date for Rhode Island’s vicarious liability cap until June 30, 2005, according to the American Automotive Leasing Association. Under previous law, the State’s cap on vicarious liability suits was designed to expire June 30, 2004.
