UPS Lends Fleet to Aid Electronics Waste Recycling Issue

United Parcel Service Inc. has launched a new service to help companies properly manage the disposition of obsolete electronics, according to Waster News magazine on May 21. Through the UPS Supply Chain Solutions’ Asset Recovery and Management service, the company will oversee the repair, recycling or environmentally sound disposal of electronic waste such as computers, cell phones, and printers. UPS’s distribution facilities throughout the United States will serve as consolidation points for used electronics. UPS also can manage the pickup and shipment of obsolete and excess equipment from a company’s own distribution centers and offers resale services on behalf of companies.
