Ryder System's Quarterly Profit Soars 77 Percent

First-quarter profit at Ryder System Inc. soared 77 percent, driven by revenue gains in truck leasing and rentals, according to the Associated Press on April 26. The Miami-based company also raised its full-year outlook. Net income for the latest quarter came to $35 million, or 53 cents a share, compared with $19.8 million, or 31 cents a share, in last year's first quarter. The latest results included a 1-cent gain from a facility sale.
