Western Distributing to Convert Fleet to MobileMax
for Wireless Communications and Tracking
Western Distributing Transportation Corp. announced on January 29, that it has agreed to convert its fleet to MobileMax, a multi-mode wireless communications and tracking solution produced by Aether Systems, Inc.
For more than 25 years, Denver, Colorado-based Western Distributing has been operating over a 48-state region, serving a large refrigerated customer base that includes Coors Brewing Company, among others. Known in the industry for operating some of the latest-model, best-kept equipment, Western now plans to equip its entire fleet of 170 trucks with Aether MobileMax.
Western Distributing also plans to use some of Aether's advanced features, including ADV Monitor, Aether's application that provides real-time information on vehicle and driver performance, state-line crossings, and vehicle fault codes. In addition, Western will implement Proximity Alert to automatically notify the company of critical arrival and departure information. In converting its fleet to MobileMax, Western Distributing expects to greatly improve visibility, while reducing monthly mobile communications cost nearly in half.
