Aventis Names Kourakos as New Fleet & Safety Manager

February 17, 2004

Aventis Pharmaceuticals has named Tina Kourakos as its fleet & safety manager, effective Feb. 9, to fill the opening following the departure of Josie Sharp to join the state of Pennsylvania as director, Bureau of Vehicle Management. Kourakos will manage the pharmaceutical company's fleet of 5,336 vehicles and its fleet safety and incentive programs. The company’s fleet consists of three levels of selectors and the vehicles are leased through ARI. Aventis was created in 2000 by the consolidation of Hoescht Marion Roussel and Rhone Poulenc Rorer. Previously, Kourakos was assistant director of fleet & strategic sourcing for Cigna in Philadelphia. She managed Cigna's fleet of up to 3,600 vehicles for the past 14 years. Kourakos and Sharp are members of the Philadelphia NAFA chapter and were members of the GM Fleet and Commercial Sounding Board. Sharp was the winner of Automotive Fleet's 2003 Fleet Manager of the Year award.
