ADESA Corp. announced that it has consolidated its ADESA wholesale vehicle auction operations under Jim Hallett. In addition to his role as president of the used-vehicle wholesale auction business, Hallett will assume the role of chief operating officer. "This move was done with the goal of streamlining our operational team and our geographic regions to drive efficiencies, and to strengthen relationships between sales and operations following our successful transition and assimilation of the auctions we acquired over the last several years," said ADESA CEO David Gartzke. "Hallett is respected as a strong industry leader; his experience qualifies him for this additional role." Don Harris, who formerly was COO, will serve as regional vice president of the Southeastern United States. The other regional vice presidents of ADESA are Ken Osborn, Tom Caruso, Mark Willey, and Dennis Jones. David Bynum, formerly a regional vice president, has assumed responsibility for the Atlanta heavy-duty truck auction and oversight of ADESA's heavy-duty truck operations nationwide.
