Chevrolet Makes HHR Name Official For New Crossover Vehicle

December 22, 2003

Chevrolet chose HHR as the name for its new crossover vehicle that starts production in the summer of 2005, according to an article in Automotive News on December 18. The new crossover, similar to the Chrysler PT Cruiser, combines the look of a high-roofed late 1940s Chevrolet truck with the current SSR. HHR started as an internal codename for heritage high roof. HHR will be the third vehicle based on GM's Delta global architecture.
