Toyota Names New Corporate Manager of Fleet

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) announced the appointment of Al Smith to corporate manager, fleet, TRAC (Toyota Rent a Car), & TCUV (Toyota Certified Used Vehicles), effective Nov. 1, 2003. He reports to Al Cabito, group vice president, sales administration. Prior to this, Smith was corporate manager, strategic projects.Smith succeeds Ron Broughman, who has been named corporate manager, private distributors. Broughman now reports to Alan DeCarr, group vice president, sales – Toyota Division.Also, Gail Kunkle was named national fleet operations & TCUV marketing manager. Previously, Kunkle was product manager of the New Era Distribution Group. Kunkle succeeds Steve Applebaum, who has joined the Toyota Dealer Advertising (TDA) Group as national TDA field manager. Applebaum has been with TMS for 17 years and now oversees TDA field activities.In addition, Karen Matsuyama has assumed the position of auto show administrator. Matsuyama has worked for Toyota for more than 16 years and was most recently the marketing administrator for the TMS Corporate Fleet Department.
