Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) rolled out its 100,000th chassis from the company's Gaffney, South Carolina, assembly line during a celebration event October 23. "This is a momentous occasion for us," said FCCC President Jack Conlan. The event was attended by South Carolina state and local officials, employees and customers. It featured a parade of FCCC products, plant tours and other ceremonies. FCCC manufactures chassis for the motorhome, walk-in van, school bus, and shuttle bus markets and is an industry leader in diesel motorhome and walk-in van chassis. The Gaffney facility also assembles the Sprinter van for Freightliner and Dodge. The plant, which currently employs more than 800 people and has 255,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space, was purchased by Freightliner from Oshkosh Truck Corporation in 1995.
