New Managing Director Named for Fleet Synergy International

September 8, 2003

Hans Damen has been named managing director of Fleet Synergy International (FSI), the global vehicle leasing and fleet management alliance. Previously, Damen was regional sales director for FSI. He has been with FSI since 1997 and prior to this spent six years with a large international fleet management company. FSI’s Belgium-based International Coordination Centre works with selected partners in different countries throughout Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. Collectively, the organization has more than 600,000 vehicles under management. An electronic communications network and a dynamic database of country-specific fleet market information support the partners. “To take full advantage of the growing interest in international fleet solutions, I am going to completely review the business over the next year looking at everything from our market positioning to our e-commerce strategy,” says Damen. “We will be looking to achieve better cohesion between our global partners. This will reinforce our ability to offer international solutions with local, expert implementation.” Damen’s appointment coincides with other changes at board-of-directors level for FSI. It was announced that Nigel Stead, managing director of Lloyds TSB autolease, joined the FSI Board of Directors. Lloyds TSB autolease is the UK member of Fleet Synergy International. Stead has been the managing director of Lloyds TSB autolease since the company was formed in 2001 through a merger between ACL autolease and Black Horse Vehicle Management.
