RI Legislature Temporarily Repeals Vicarious Liability for Leases of 39 Months or Less

Early on the morning of July 3, the Rhode island legislature voted to eliminate lessor vicarious liability for all leases with a term of 39 months or less. The legislation is effective as of July 1, 2003, but expires on July 1, 2004.
