PHH Arval's Web-based vehicle selection tools will offer a new feature beginning with the 2004-model year that allows customers to guage the environmental friendliness of cars and light trucks. PHH Interactive, the fleet management company's customer Web site, will use rankings created by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). ACEEE, an independent non-profit research group, publishes ACEEE's Green Book: The Environmental Guide to Cars & Trucks. Although the Green Book is primarily geared as a buyer's guide for the consumer market, PHH Interactive will integrate ACEEE's information with the unique needs of fleets, including specifications, pricing, and projected operating costs. Fleet managers will be able to identify and compare the "greenest" vehicles from more than 180 models. The information will include the ACEEE's "Green Score" ratings on each vehicle, plus the rankings for environmentally-friendly vehicles in each class.
