General Motors announced that Roger Adams, general manager of GM Customer Network, GM's customer relationship marketing group, was appointed to the position of general manager, Buick and Pontiac-GMC divisions. Adams assumes direct responsibility for Buick, and will ensure that portfolio planning, network development, and tactical marketing planning are aligned across the Buick, Pontiac, and GMC brands. He continues to report to John Middlebrook, vice president of vehicle brand marketing and corporate advertising. Lynn Myers, divisional marketing general manager of Pontiac-GMC, will continue in her current role, reporting to Adams. GM also announced that Jack Bowen, general director of GM's Credit Card operations, was named general director, GM Customer Network, reporting to Adams. Both changes were effective May 1. Adams joined GM in 1996 with Buick Division as brand manager of the Regal. He had previously been vice president of marketing, research and development at Keebler Co. He also worked in marketing and advertising at H.J. Heinz, RJR Nabisco, and Pepsico, Inc. Adams was named marketing general manager at Buick in 1998. Bowen began his GM career in 1996 as Buick's director of advertising. While at Buick, he also served as brand manager for the Buick Rendezvous from May 1998 until December 2001, when he was named general director of The GM Card. Prior to that, Bowen worked at Leo Burnett U.S.A., serving accounts such as Procter & Gamble, Swift Ekrich, Black & Decker, Kraft General Foods, Sony Consumer Products and United Airlines.
