Toyota and Honda Deliver Fuel-Cell Vehicles to Southern California

Toyota and Honda will deliver fuel cell vehicles to the City of Los Angeles and two major California universities on Monday, December 2, 2002.Honda will deliver the first of five hydrogen-powered Honda "FCX" fuel cell vehicles (FCV) being leased by Los Angeles to mayor James Hahn. The Hondas will be used for the city's fleet service.Toyota will also deliver two market-ready Toyota "FCHV" fuel cell vehicles at a ceremony on the campus of the University of California, Irvine. The Toyota vehicles will be used in research and development efforts underway at the Irvine and Davis campuses. Honda and Toyota have plans to deploy FCVs in both Japan and the United States.
