Five Auto Manufacturers Upgrade 2003 Warranties

Several automakers have improved warranty coverage on certain 2003 models, continuing the trend toward longer warranties.

The Chrysler Group increased its powertrain coverage from 3 years/36,000 miles in 2002 to 7 years/70,000 miles in 2003. American Isuzu Motors Ltd. lengthened its coverage for roadside assistance on the 2003 Ascender to 7 years/75,000 miles from 5 years/60,000 miles in 2002. Mazda North American Operations increased its basic, powertrain, and roadside assistance warranty coverage to 4 years/50,000 miles from 3 years/50,000 miles in the 2002-model year. Suzuki lengthened its powertrain coverage to 7 years/100,000 miles, up from 3 years/36,000 miles in 2002. Saab Cars USA Inc. expanded its 3-year/36,000-mile no-charge scheduled maintenance to 9-3 models, making the coverage available across its entire line.
