The Kruger National Park in South Africa has outsourced the management of its logistical and commercial support vehicle fleet to Vuswa Fleet Services, a joint venture between Avis Fleet Services (a PHH Arval partner) and the Mpumalanga-based black empowerment company, Bohlabela Wheels. Previously, KNP outsourced its catering and retail operations. The five-year fleet management contract, which involves approximately 220 vehicles, is designed to achieve optimal utilization of the KNP fleet. Almost all of these vehicles were replaced with new units between September and November. Approximately 122 light-commercial vehicles manufactured by Nissan South Africa and 53 medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles manufactured by Nissan Diesel have been sourced through the Bohlabela Wheels Nissan dealership. Other vehicles have been sourced through SMME dealers.
