Clean Air Garbage Trucks Introduced

October 15, 2002

Sacramento’s new fleet of low-emission garbage and recycling trucks was introduced in August. The roll-out of the 45 trucks, which run on liquid natural gas (LNG), is designed to reduce soot particles and NOx emissions in the Sacramento region. The Department of Waste Management & Recycling will add another 65 LNG trucks to the fleet.
