After a successful pilot test with clients, General Motors Remarketing Services (GMRS), will launch its customized, Web-enabled inventory management system to remarketing clients nationwide this fall. Powered by AutoIMS.com, GMRemarketingServices.com provides GMRS and its customers with full inventory visibility as well as electronic condition reports and comprehensive data analysis capabilities. Once GMRS’ clients enter a vehicle into the system and transmit a completed inspection form, GMRS manages the rest of the selling process via the web-enabled IMS — including assigning vehicles to auction, arranging transportation, reviewing condition reports and authorizing repairs. At the same time, clients maintain full inventory visibility with access to online reports. The system’s password hierarchy application assures data security as clients are restricted to viewing only their inventory. GMRS, on the other hand, maintains visibility across its client base but can tailor internal users’ data access as required.
