Trucking Publisher, H. Pettus Randall III, Dead at 57

Pettus Randall III, chairman of Randall Publishing Co., died late Saturday in Tuscaloosa after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57. A publishing company in the trucking industry, Randall Publishing produces Overdrive, Truckers News and CCJ magazines, as well as It also produces the Great American Trucking Show, held in Dallas each fall. An Alabama native, Randall became president of Randall Publishing upon his father’s death in 1976. He became chairman of the board and chief executive officer in 1984. Founded in 1934, Ran-dall Publishing is one of the nation’s largest privately held trade publishing companies, employing more than 500 associates.
