The State of Illinois announced it has contracted Wright Express for fuel cards and fleet management services over a three-year period. The contract will be implemented in three phases and will ultimately cover nearly 20,000 state vehicles that purchase gasoline.

The contract follows a pilot program in which the Illinois State Police, Department of Transportation, and Department of Central Management Services tested the Wright Express service. In the past, the state used its own private label card that could not be processed electronically and had limited vendor acceptance.
