ADESA Corp. and its 52 wholesale vehicle auctions announced that they have donated over $100,000 to charities assisting the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attcks. According to the company, in the immediate hours following the attacks, each ADESA auction raised funds in a variety of ways. Several auctions collected money from customers, some held auctions of a different kind and ADESA employees made contributions independently. All donations collected were matched by the ADESA corporate office in Indianapolis and were sent to the American Red Cross, the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), the United Way, the Victor Saracini Memorial Children’s Fund and the local firefighters’ relief fund in Avon, IN. With a goal of $100,000 the total amount ADESA raised was $101,140. On the anniversary of the attacks, ADESA commemorated the lives of those lost with a special donation to the FDNY during their annual client appreciation dinner at the Regent Wall Street Hotel.
