Truckload Carriers Association Members Vote to Reunite with ATA

July 16, 2002

Members of the Truckload Carriers Association have approved a deal to re-affiliate with American Trucking Associations. This will reportedly end a split over membership requirements and dues between the two associations. The deal supposedly allows each organization to keep separate membership and staff while pur-suing joint marketing and lobbying activities. According to the associations, under the terms of the agreement, TCA would pay ATA an annual advocacy fee of $100,000. In return, TCA would have one voting seat on ATA's executive committee and access to other ATA resources, TCA officials said.
