New Saab 9-3 to be Unveiled at GE Capital Fleet Services Conference

July 30, 2002

GE Capital Fleet Services will host the first public, non-GM event, viewing of the all-new 2003 Saab 9-3. The new Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan will be unveiled to the U.S. public for the first time at the GE Capital Fleet Services business conference, which will be held on July 31-August 1 in Minneapolis. The 9-3 is the first in a series of new Saab products to be launched, one per year for the next five years. Currently, Saab is selling 40,000 units per year in the U.S. and the launch of the new 9-3 is start of a product plan to ultimately increase volume to 100,000 units per year within the next five years. The new notchback body style is departure from traditional hatchback styling of the predecessor 9-3. Among the new safety enhancements for the 9-3 are the OnStar telematics system, adaptive driver and passenger front airbags, and side curtain airbags front and rear. The base MSRP pricing for the Saab 9-3 linear sedan is $25,900.
