Electronic Parking Brake Systems Free Up Interior Space

March 25, 2002

Dura Automotive Systems has announced the development of its Electronic Parking Brake System. The new technology eliminates the need for a hand- or foot-operated parking brake inside the vehicle, helping to improve vehicle packaging and free interior space. When the system is fitted to a vehicle, a small interior switch activates the parking brake. The first commercial use of the system was unveiled on the Jaguar S-Type at the 2002 North American International Auto Show. The system interfaces with the hydraulic brake systems used on most mass-produced cars today.
