Chevy Trucks Supports 2002 Paralympic Games

March 12, 2002

Chevy Trucks is a supporter of the Salt Lake 2002 Paralympic Winter Games, which will conclude March 16. Chevrolet will be running TV ads indicating that Chevy Trucks is an "official supporter of the 2002 Paralympic Games," as well as billboard TV ads that read: "Chevy Trucks and GM Mobility -- helping to meet the needs of people with disabilities." Two members of the GM Barrier Breakers team -- athletes who use Chevy Trucks and their individual accomplishments to inspire Americans with disabilities -- are playing key roles in the event. Mark Wellman participated in the opening ceremonies and Sarah Will is competing in downhill ski events. Will has won a total of eight gold medals and one silver in the past three Paralympics. Both athletes currently drive Chevy Silverados.
