Boyd Coffee Orders 2 Sprinters for Its Fleet

March 19, 2002

The fleet at Boyd Coffee Co. in Portland has ordered two 2002-model Sprinter vans for its fleet. Fleet Manager Dale Pollard said he currently uses Ford E-350s, but said the size of the cargo being carried has increased, so more cargo space was needed. “I like that they’re a 5-cylinder, turbo-charged diesel and get 22 miles per gallon,” said Pollard, who manages a fleet of 170 vehicles. “I heard FedEx was getting 26 miles per gallon with them, but we’ll see if we get that with our application.”
