Used Car News Editor Dies

Charles M. “Chuck” Thomas, general manager and editor of Used Car News, died Feb. 15 following a two-month battle with esophageal cancer. He was 55. Thomas was instrumental in forming General Media LLC in 1995, the publisher of Used Car News. The publication was the first trade newspaper to focus entirely on the used-car and auction industries. Prior to launching Used Car News, he was a long-time reporter with Automotive News assigned to the used-car and auction beat. He is survived by his wife Lynda and three daughters, Katherine, Melanie and Elizabeth.
