February 19, 2002

Chrysler will launch a vehicle segment that the corporation calls a "sports tourer." The 2004 Chrysler Pacifica will be built at the same assembly plant in Windsor, Ontario, where the company currently builds its Chrysler and Dodge minivans. While the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica will be built in the same plant as Chrysler and Dodge minivans, the vehicle will not be built on any of the company's short- or long-wheelbase minivan platforms. A pro-duction version will be revealed later this year. Production of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica will begin in early 2003.
