XM Radio to be Offered in 23 GM Vehicles

General Motors will offer XM Satellite Radio on 23 of its models this fall, the company said on Jan. 14, 2002. The automaker will include receivers for the new satellite radio service on several of its larger passenger truck models such as the Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban and the Tahoe, as well as the GMC line of trucks and sport/utility vehicles. Several of its passenger and luxury car offerings from Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac will also have the equipment offered for the 2003-model year. XM, based in Washington, DC, offers 100 digital channels of radio broadcasting for a flat, monthly fee.
