Gartzke Named Chairman and CEO of ALLETE

David Gartzke has been named chairman and CEO of ALLETE, parent company of ADESA Corp. He will also remain president of ALLETE. The announcement comes after Arend Sandbulte said he will retire as chairman of the board in May. Gartzke began his career at ALLETE, formerly Minnesota Power, in 1975. After holding several positions, he was named senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer in December 1995. Gartzke became president of ALLETE in August 2001.
