Accident Prevention Plus Initiates Final Data Monitoring Testing with American Trucking Associations

January 30, 2002

Accident Prevention Plus Inc. will install and participate in the final testing for the American Trucking Associations (ATA) of the APP Plus Data Monitoring System on Feb. 11, 12, and 13, 2002. A pre-pilot test has been completed. The pilot has been done to evaluate the technologies involved in the project and to allow the University of Pennsylvania of defining what has to be recorded, which took place in April 2000. The university has defined its final requirements in July 2000. This allowed redesigning of the interface in charge of collecting data from all the systems (safetrack, perclos camera, and the Howard Power Center Steering system). Accident Prevention Plus re-redesigned the interface and will be installing four systems at Challenger on Feb. 11. ATA is planning to test six groups of four drivers for a period of four weeks each, with the entire test lasting 24 weeks. During this period, Accident Prevention Plus is in charge of collecting all the data, printing out summary reports by using its standard data analysis and management software and creating all data files required by the university for accurate data analysis. Other organizations that are involved with this project include: Challenger Motor Freight Inc., Trucking Associations Foundation, Transport Canada, Canadian Trucking Alliance, American Trucking Association, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, University of Pennsylvania, River City Products, AssistWare Technology, Carnegie Mellon Research National Robotics Engineering Consortium, and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Accident Prevention Plus is a vehicular technology company located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, engaged in the development, production, implementation, marketing and distribution of technology for the transportation industry.
