Penske Truck Leasing Buys Southern NationaLease

Penske Truck Leasing has acquired the assets of Southern NationaLease, a truck lessor and rental company based in Birmingham, AL, with additional operations in Montgomery, Huntsville, Bessemer, and Pell City, AL. The acquisition, which closed on Sept. 28, 2001, adds more than 200 tractors, straight trucks, and trailers to Penske Truck Leasing’s fleet.Southern NationaLease serves more than 35 customers through five locations in Northern Alabama. Penske Truck Leasing is a joint venture of Penske Corp. and GE Capital. It operates approximately 206,000 heavy-, medium-, and light-duty trucks worldwide.
