Bill Gibson to Become National Sales Director for GM FCO on Oct. 1, 2001

October 1, 2001

Bill Gibson, a veteran executive in GM Fleet and Commercial Operations, will become national sales director effective Oct. 1. Gibson, who has spent the last decade in GM’s fleet business, had been performing the role on an interim basis since Sept. 1. He joined General Motors in 1973 in manufacturing operations. Prior to taking over the national sales director position, Gibson had been responsible for rental fleet sales. Ed Berger, a veteran GM executive who was most recently director of the Dealer Consulting Center, will succeed Gibson as director of rental sales. Over the past year, Berger planned and managed the integration of Dealer Consulting Center op-erations into the five regional offices. In his 19-year GM career, Berger has served as Chevrolet regional marketing manager for the Southeast Region, brand manager for the Cadillac Seville and Eldorado, and in several positions in the Buick division.
